Abstract Systems and facilities are heavily networked and interconnected, composed of ‘systems within systems’. In the market of built environment, actions for climate, carbon and ESG will drive FM to find more creative, integrated solutions to increasingly complex issues. This presentation will bombard us with “5 Must-Do’s” in terms of how FM can cope with the latest trend of Sustainable Future such as digital alignment, data analytics, climate resilience, carbon neutrality, circular economy and ESG reporting, as well as how FM can response and better prepare for the change. Biography Dr Bruce Chong is Arup’s Climate & Sustainability leader, focusing on formulating strategic approaches on resources efficiency, green infrastructure, and smart and resilient planning. He is also Arup’s Skill Leader of City Resilience and Sustainable Infrastructure Design in East Asia, working on masterplanning, strategic resources planning and building projects from city to district to community slevels in Hong Kong, mainland China and Southeast Asia. Bruce has led many strategic consultancy projects on smart cities, climate resilience, city informatics and circular economy for city governments, private developers and international organisations including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, Rockefeller Foundation and Ellen MacArthur Foundation. More recently, Bruce has focused on a statistical based approach to conduct SBTi, TCFD, ESG and related climate risk consultancy for top-tier listed companies. Bruce is a Cambridge Overseas Scholar and a Research Fellow at Sydney University. He was awarded as the Young Green Leader by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in 2013, and has been playing an active role in creating value and generating momentum for industry-wide change, a prominent example being the Smart Green Resilient planning framework which has been adopted by the Hong Kong government. |
